Welcome to Art at Summerfield Elementary!

This is going to be an exciting year for our art students. We will explore many different types of media, from paint and clay to sculpture and collage. As we work, we will develop an appreciation for the artwork of many different artists, styles and cultures. Through our artwork, we will reinforce learning across the curriculum. I structure my lessons to balance formal art content, skill development and creative expression. My goal is to create an art program that builds a foundation in skill development and content knowledge while also fostering critical and creative thinking, skills that will benefit our students throughout their lives!
