Good evening Mendenhall Families!  This is Principal George Green with a few reminders for this week.

I am happy to announce that Mendenhall Middle School EXCEEDED GROWTH on the North Carolina End of Grade assessments for two years in a row!  We had the second highest growth index score amongst all Guilford County Schools middle schools, and sixth highest growth of all schools in the district!  This is a great accomplishment for our school.  A big THANK YOU goes out to the students, staff, and parents for making this happen!

The soccer and volleyball teams kick off their season on Monday at home against Northeast Middle and then will travel to Jackson Middle on Thursday.  Both games will begin at 4:45 pm and ticket prices are $5 for adults and $3 for students.  The clear bag policy is in effect for all games.

The soccer and volleyball teams will take pictures on Tuesday, September 12th right after school.

There will also be a Fencing Club interest meeting on Tuesday as well.

Get ready for our Back-to-School Dance which will be held on Friday, September 22nd from 3:30 until 5:00 pm.  Tickets will go on sale next week.

Attention 7th grade parents.  North Carolina state law requires all 7th grade students to have 2 additional vaccines by the 30th day of school each year.  Please ensure that your child has their TDAP and MCV vaccines by September 26th.  Reach out to your health care provider and schedule your appointment if needed.

The new Mendenhall Spiritwear Store is now open with new items and more color options!  Be sure to check out the link on our webpage.  The store will only be open until September 14th so order today!

Please remember that all students and visitors to our school will go through the EVOLV body scanner each day.  This is a measure that was put in place to ensure the safety and security of everyone visiting our campus.

As always, thank you for your continued support of Mendenhall Middle School, where we are, The Home of the Mustangs!

Good evening Mendenhall Families!  This is Principal George Green with a few reminders for this week.

Thank you for making our Open House a huge success!  Our teachers and staff worked extremely hard in order to ensure that everything was ready for the return of students and families.

Monday, August 28th is the first day of school for students, and we look forward to seeing everyone’s return.  Doors will open at 8:05 am and we will begin to dismiss students around 3:00 pm to assist with the car rider traffic flow.  Speaking of traffic flow, please be patient as new parents and students learn the routine.  I promise the pace will pick up as we progress through the week.

There will be some changes to student schedules in order to make sure that we have class sizes balanced during the first 2 weeks of school. Thank you in advance for your understanding and support.

Attention 7th grade parents.  North Carolina state law requires all 7th grade students to have 2 additional vaccines by the 30th day of school each year.  Please ensure that your child has their TDAP and MCV vaccines by the end of September.  Reach out to your health care provider and schedule your appointment if needed.

Please remember that all students and visitors to the school will go through the EVOLV body scanner each day.  This is a measure that was put in place to ensure the safety and security of everyone visiting our campus.

Shortly following this message there will be an additional call that contains athletic tryout dates and times for our prospective student athletes.

As always, thank you for your continued support of Mendenhall Middle School, where we are, The Home of the Mustangs!
