Good evening, Mendenhall Families!  This is Principal George Green with a few reminders for this week.

The partial solar eclipse happening on Monday, April 8, will reach our area during or right after the instructional day for many of our schools. School staff will be communicating with students about how to view the eclipse safely. We want to remind students that it is not safe to view an eclipse using regular sunglasses, a camera or phone lens, a telescope, binoculars, or any other optical device. Only special safety glasses can be used. Additionally, students should not stare directly at the sun for extended periods of time. Please help us reinforce that message by reminding your child not to view the eclipse without proper eyewear.

Students will take their NWEA assessments on Monday and Tuesday in math and reading.  These tests are designed to give us an indication of how they are performing with grade level peers across the US.

Student Council will be kicking off their annual food drive this Monday, April 8th through Friday, April 19th.  The homeroom with the most food items donated will receive a doughnut party.

The baseball and softball teams will be at home on Monday against Northeast Middle and then again on Wednesday against Jackson Middle, this game was originally scheduled for Thursday. The games begin at 4:45 pm and ticket prices are $5 for adults and $3 for students.
