Dr. Melvin Marshall

Dr. Marshall received his Doctorial degree in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University in 2021.  He received his Masters of School Administration degree from UNC-Greensboro in 2000 and his Bachelor of Arts degree from North Carolina A&T in 1991. He spent the first 6 years of his career as a high school Social Studies teacher. He then spent the next 3 years as a high school Assistant Principal at Scotland High School in Laurinburg and at Dudley High School in Greensboro, NC.  For more than 10 years, he served as a principal on the middle and high school levels with Asheboro City Schools and Lee County Schools.  He spent more than 4 years of his 26 years in public education working in Human Resources with Beaufort County Schools and Durham Public Schools. He started this current school year as Principal at SCALE-Greensboro.  He officially started as principal of Smith High School on Monday November 4, 2019.
