Welcome to Mrs. Mason's Homepage

  • I grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina and currently live in High Point, NC with my husband Stuart, my son Miles, and furbabies, Bella and Ginger. I enjoy traveling and seeing new places, shooting photography, spending time in the North Carolina mountains, playing board games, and spending time with family and friends.

I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2003 with a BS in Human Development and Family Studies with a concentration in Child and Adolescent. My passion during my undergraduate studies was to work with at risk youth and positively make an impact in their lives. Upon graduating in 2003, I came across an ACES group leader position job while I searched for a job in my field. Little did I know that becoming a Guilford County Schools employee in September 2003 would change my passion and career! I worked as an ACES group leader and a substitute teacher for a few years. While substituting, I found a passion educating children and it lead me to enroll at Greensboro College pursue an education degree. I became an assistant teacher and went to school at nighttime. In 2008, I started my first year teaching as a 2nd grade teacher! I continued teaching 2nd grade for 5 years and have taught 3rd grade since! This will be my 15th year teaching! I am National Board Certified and am hoping to hear this December if I am successfully maintained!

I often write Donor's Choose projects to enhance my classroom or my professional development. I have received iPads, StoryWorks Jr subscriptions, Ron Clark Academy Educational Day Visit, and most recently bug books to enhance our researching skills for literacy.  Click the link to check out any current projects.
