"Learning to Serve; Serving to Learn"

As I begin my 21st year in Guilford County Schools, I am so lucky to be the principal of Jefferson Elementary School.  Jefferson has been my home for the past 4 years.  I have watched the staff and students continue to grow each year and I know we are going to EXCEED GROWTH together this year! We missed EXCEEDING GROWTH by 0.10% in 2018-2019!  This is our year!!  We did exceed growth by Reading for the first time since I have been at Jefferson.  This is due to the strategic and determined work of our amazing staff, our dedicated volunteers, daytime tutors and of course, our wonderful parents supporting our students.

Jefferson is the home of the Eagles. Eagles are known for having STRENGTH, COURAGE, and PERSERVERANCE. Those characteristics embody our teachers and our students. Our mission and vision drive our school culture of continual learning and growth for ALL.

We are here to serve you, your family and your children. We embrace all parents, visitors and students with a smile and passion for learning. It is our mission to serve each child's individual social, emotional and academic needs.

Jefferson Elementary has two Pre-K Classrooms, two Adaptive Curriculum Classrooms; one Regional Behavior Support Classroom, and 30 General Education Classrooms. We have 130 students who receive special education services; 45 students in our Academically Gifted Program; 122 students whose first language is something other than English; and many other amazing students that make up our Eagle's Nest. We are all different in our own way, but together we are EAGLE STRONG!

Please come and visit our EAGLE HOME.  If you have questions, please feel free to email at villars@gcsnc.com or call 336-316-5870. We appreciate the ongoing feedback and support.

    Thank you,
