Hello!  I'm Mrs. McCord and I will be your child's Third Grade teacher this year!  

A little bit about me:  I received my Elementary Education degree from Appalachian State University.  After graduation I married my husband and have 3 wonderful children.  I have spent time raising my children and working in non-profits.  My oldest child will be in his 4th year at Appalachian State University this year; and my middle son will be in his 3rd year at University of North Carolina Wilmington.  My youngest child will be a sophomore at Page High School.  All 3 of my children attended Irving Park Elementary, so I have spent the last 17 years at this school in some capacity.  Four years ago I returned to teaching at Irving Park.  Since that time I have taught 4th grade, 4th grade reading and now 3rd grade.  

This year I will be teaching Reading and Social Studies to both my class and Mrs. Coffey's class.  We have many exciting activities planned this year to allow each student to succeed and be prepared for fourth grade next year!
