Welcome to the Lindley PTA
Lindley Elementary has a very active Parent Teacher Association (PTA), engaging Lindley families in the success of our children.
What is the PTA?
The PTA is made up of parents, guardians and teachers who care deeply about the education and welfare of all our students. Our goal? To support Lindley by funding and facilitating:
Student enrichment activities such as Family Science Night, Accelerated Readers Program, Cultural Arts programs, Moby Max, and more.
Teacher appreciation events to let teachers know how much we value what they do in the classroom every day.
Classroom support to help classroom teachers provide the necessary materials and supplies that help our students learn.
Technology support to give our teachers access to the tools they need for enhancing their lessons.
Media Support to ensure our Media Center has the best books and related resources for our children.
Beautification of the school grounds, including the Lindley School Garden, the Lindley Nature Trail and other outdoor spaces.
Communication with parents/guardians, including the Roaring News newsletter, email announcements, and this website.
Family Involvement, including Muffins for Mom and Donuts for Dad, Movie Nights, Ice Skating Night, and more.
Student and family wellness through activities like the Lindley Lions Run with the Pride Fun Run and other events.
How are PTA activities/programs funded?
To fund our efforts, we invite all parents/guardians and teachers to get involved. If you haven't joined, it's easy.
It is $6 per member. Here are three other ways can help:
Annual Run with the Pride Fun Run. This is our primary fundraiser for the year. The kids, teachers, staff and sponsors had a ball last year. We generated nearly $20,000 for the school.
Box Tops for Education. When you send them to school, you can help us earn big cash to benefit our students. Each Box Top you send generates 10 cents for Lindley, so keep the Box Tops coming. For more information, visit www.boxtops4education.com.Harris Teeter VIC Card. Link your card to Lindley (code 2872) and ask your friends/family members to do the same. You can link at the register or online at www.harristeeter.com/community/together_in_education/link_to_your_school.aspx. Last year we raised nearly $800, so get linked today.
TARGET REDcard Holders. Link your Target REDcard to Lindley Elementary you only do it one time! Target will donate up to 1% of the amount of each purchase you make with your REDcard to our school. Sign up at www.Target.com/tcoe, or call 1.800.316.6142, or Store Kiosk.
Family Restaurant Nights. Once or twice per month Lindley Elementary hosts a family night at Chick Fil A and Kiosko. These businesses give 10% back to the school. This money is used to buy equipment and fund programs. Please join us when you can.
Learn and Be Heard
Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate in the PTA--your way. Here are a few ways to get involved:
