HPC Theatre Arts

Program Description

  • In HPC's Theatre Program students will examine theatre as an expressive and collaborative art form.  The mission of our program is for all students to gain an understanding of the collaborative nature and technical skills of theatre arts and of their own value as an integral part of our team; This is accomplished through working on productions and ensemble exercises. Theatrical topics explored within the program include: stage movement, pantomime, acting, vocal styles, script writing, theatre history, Shakespeare, playwriting/devising, technical design, and technical play production.

At HPC, theatre is created entirely by students.  Meaning, every aspect of performances, from acting to lighting to costume and set design and construction, is completed by students. It is my goal to give all students the tools and confidence to complete any task set before them.

Any student at HPC is welcome to participate in theatrical activities as a class member or a drama club member.
