• Dear Jones Families,

    Key concepts were created by the district to support the major work of each grade level and subject area. When we first began this process after March 13th, scholars and parents were given the option to work in this platform. As we approached the 6th week of remote learning the Key concepts became the new initiative for the district. This was the focus to support scholars as we transition to better support scholars in hopes to close gaps by pinpointing the major work of each grade level. With the Key concepts in place we began the new step of reviewing scholars’ assignments and providing completed or not complete into the system. This was not just a check off, but teachers analyzed and provided critical and personalized feedback to support each activity. This was a strategy in hopes to give us a better idea of how we can support scholars next year based on the work completed during our remote learning in the 4th quarter.

    This will be the last week that we will be collecting and reviewing work for canvas key concepts. Please complete what you can. All canvas courses will conclude this week no longer giving you access to the current course. No worries, if you are looking for your scholar to continue to grow and challenge their brain, we are working to copy all courses. This is strictly optional and will not be monitored by teachers during the summer, but it will give your scholars access to the video instruction and a plethora of educational resources. If you choose to enroll your scholar links will be provided for you to act on this opportunity.

     

    I will also be sending information soon concerning an ARC Quest website that will be available to K-5 students in Spanish immersion beginning at the end of June. This program will be a great (and totally optional) program designed to minimize Spanish language loss over the summer.
