Ms. Allison Adams

As I begin my fourth year as an Assistant Principal at Southern Guilford High School, I remain excited to be a part of this fabulous community!  I enjoy working with our competent and dedicated teachers, families and community members to find solutions that ensure all students maintain access to a rigorous curriculum and opportunities to enrich their lives while in high school and beyond.  The 2020-2021 school year will mark my 26th year in education and my 26th year with Guilford County Schools.

2006 Masters of school administration: NCA&T

2003 National Board Certification: EC Specialist, Mild to Moderate Disabilities, Birth – 21

1996 Bachelors of Arts in Special Education, UNF (early coursework concentrated at UF)

Family is very important to me.  My three children keep me on the go with their involvement in a multitude of sports as well as their long time passions of band, volleyball, swimming, scouting, sailing and horseback riding.  Though being raised and educated in the Sunshine State (Florida), I have now lived in North Carolina for almost 25 years.  My family and I are most often found outdoors and while I miss the white sands and blue waters of the west coast of Florida, I love the nearby mountains of our state!  I spend any free time I can find hiking and trail running… and I must admit, sometimes lying in a hammock under the trees!

I believe that our students deserve access to rigorous and meaningful curriculum and learning activities.  I want our students to understand the value in supporting each other and in giving back to their community.  I believe that a well-rounded student provided a multitude of learning opportunities leads to a full, grateful and happy adult life and a healthy and strong community for all!  I look forward to continuing my partnership with each of you in the academic, social and emotional growth of your children.  As an assistant principal at SGHS, I strive to ensure success both in and out of the classroom for all students!  Go Storm!
