I am over the moon to be your science specialist! I have always enjoyed technology and loved science!
My love of science comes from my parents. We were always camping, visiting state and local parks, exploring our backyard, creating crafts and participating in 4H and library programs. I can remember coming back from a trip from NY and a giant bug hit my parents' windshield. It was late at night and there was hardly any traffic, so we stopped so my mom could get a look at what we hit. My dad turned on the high beams and my mom spent 10 minutes looking around the front of the car. When she came back to the car, she had a large Polyphemus Moth with the neatest false eyes I had ever seen. I have enjoyed sharing this love of nature with my students and hope to continue to do so in the lab.
Over the last few years, I have immersed myself and students in STEM education. I look forward to expanding this experience in the lab. I also plan on having students participate in project based learning and field study experiences. We will still continue to do experiments and dissecting in the upper grades.
