Dr. Kimberly Jones Goods
Dr. Kimberly Jones Goods is an educational leader whose passion is to empower teachers with instructional strategies that will help better meet the needs of students. With over 14 years of experience in education, Dr. Jones Goods has held many titles, some of which include, experience as a high school building-level administrator, beginning teacher support coordinator, mentor trainer, advanced placement coordinator, drop out prevention program director, study skills program coordinator, a TEACH site coordinator for Teaching Excellence in American Civic History-a Department of Education grant, master teacher, adjunct professor and Assistant Principal.
Dr. Jones-Goods holds certifications as a Level 3 Early Childhood Administrator, a Level 3 School Age Administrator, and Standard Professional II licenses in the following areas: Superintendent, Principal (Grades K-12), Elementary Education (grades K-6), Political Science (grades 9-12), Geography (grades 9-12), History (Grades 9-12), Economics (Grades 9-12), Sociology (Grades 9-12), Anthropology (Grades 9-12), Middle Grades Social Studies (6-9), and is a Mentor Trainer.
Dr. Jones Goods attained her Bachelor’s degree from Ithaca College and a Master’s degree from Cornell University. She completed a graduate licensure program at High Point University in educational leadership and earned a PhD in Leadership Studies from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. Dr. Jones Goods is a proponent of equity in education, culturally relevant and responsive teaching pedagogy and adaptive leadership.
She believes that it is our obligation and our privilege to create hope and a future for all students" and as a leader it is her responsibility to ensure that this happens. She has a passion for working with students, teachers, and parents, a belief in integrity, a focus on equity, a growth mindset and is a lifelong learner. Dr. Jones-Goods believes that all students "when provided the appropriate conditions: an environment where education feels valued and is the norm; positive relationship-building is present; students receive quality learning experiences and appropriate grade-level instructional materials, can learn at high levels."
Dr. Jones Goods is excited to be a part of the administrative team at Northern Guilford High School and will continue to work diligently for the success of all students. Kimberly believes that "all students can learn, regardless of circumstance, if provided a school community that believes in them and given equitable opportunities and resources." She believes our students deserve the best that we have to offer them so that they can be successful!
