• Welcome to Mrs. Chappell's (pronounced like chapel) English class. I have been teaching for about 8 years. I enjoy reading, climbing, gardening, hiking. traveling, and running.

I hold learning labs every Wednesday from 3:50-4:35. There are busses that can take students home after learning lab, but they must remember to sign up for the bus in the lunch room during their lunch period.

The best way to contact me is by emailing chappec@gcsnc.com.

Please welcome Ms. Hunter from A&T! I am very excited to announce that Ms. Hunter will be coteaching with me this semester!

    SUMMER READING

ENGLISH 1 HONORS - ESSAY OPTION DUE THE 1ST DAY OF CLASS.

Remember, you have the option to write an essay answering one of two prompts for To Kill a Mockingbird or you may take the To Kill a Mockingbird test. Personally, if I were you, I would write the essay. Either option is fine, but you really have to know the book inside and out to do well on the test. Supply list for English I is located in the syllabus under the "Course Expectations" page.

A.P. LANGUAGE - DUE 1ST DAY OF THE SCHOOL YEAR.

EVEN THOUGH AP LANGUAGE IS A 2ND SEMESTER CLASS, YOUR SUMMER WORK IS DUE ON THE 1ST DAY OF SCHOOL.

YOU WILL LOSE 25 POINTS AUTOMATICALLY FOR WORK TURNED IN A WEEK LATE. ANY WORK TURNED IN AFTER THE 1ST WEEK OF THE SCHOOL YEAR WILL BE A 0.

Supply list for AP Language is located in the syllabus under the "Course Expectations" page.
