Welcome to Mrs. Chappell's (pronounced like chapel) English class. I have been teaching for over 7 years. I enjoy reading, climbing, gardening, traveling, and running.
I hold learning labs every Wednesday from 3:50-4:35. Students need to sign up for learning labs a day in advance. The best way to contact me is by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
I encourage both AP and Honors students to turn in their summer work during Monday's Open House.
ENGLISH 1 HONORS - ESSAY OPTION DUE THE 1ST DAY OF CLASS.
Remember, you have the option to write an essay answering one of two prompts for To Kill a Mockingbird or you may take the To Kill a Mockingbird test. Personally, if I were you, I would write the essay. Either option is fine, but you really have to know the book inside and out to do well on the test. Supply list for English I is located in the syllabus under the "Course Expectations" page.
A.P. LANGUAGE - DUE 1ST DAY OF THE SCHOOL YEAR.
EVEN THOUGH AP LANGUAGE IS A 2ND SEMESTER CLASS, YOUR SUMMER WORK IS DUE ON THE 1ST DAY OF SCHOOL.
YOU WILL LOSE 25 POINTS AUTOMATICALLY FOR WORK TURNED IN A WEEK LATE. ANY WORK TURNED IN AFTER THE 1ST WEEK OF THE SCHOOL YEAR WILL BE A 0.
If you are shopping for AP supplies now, you will need a 3-ring binder (1” or larger) for this class only and at least 4 dividers. My syllabus will be up as soon as I know whether or not new books for class were ordered.
