Welcome back to another school year!  My name is Ms. Adriane Smith. I am looking forward to a year of learning, achieving, and growing.  This year I will be teaching reading to my homeroom class and Whittington's homeroom class, as well as teaching Social Studies and Science to my homeroom class. 

This is the start of my 22nd year of teaching.  I have previously taught 4^th grade at Monticello-Brown Summit Elementary in Guilford County, Varennes Elementary in Anderson, South Carolina, and Lincoln Heights Elementary in Charlotte, North Carolina. I am originally from Anderson, South Carolina. After leaving Greensboro in 2003, I moved back in August 2010 because my husband and I made this great city our permanent home.

Parent communication is a top priority in our classrooms.  At any time throughout the year I will be available for conferences or phone conferences.  Email is also another great way to keep in touch.  Working as a team with you will help your child inside and outside the classroom.

We are looking forward to another wonderful year at Pearce Elementary!
