    Biography & Background
My name is Grady Peace and I teach social studies at Grimsley High School in Greensboro, North Carolina. The 2019-20 academic year marks my 21st year teaching here in Greensboro. I have taught at Grimsley High School for 17 years!

A little background on Mr. Peace: I am originally from Lincoln, Nebraska, home of the Cornhuskers! I earned a bachelors degree in history from the University of Nebraska in 1994 and moved to North Carolina in 1998 and promptly began my teaching career.  I began my teaching career at Smith High School in 1999 and transferred to Grimsley in 2003. At the same time, I pursued a masters degree in history & education from A & T University, graduating with a masters degree in history and education in 2005. Over the years, I have taught a range of subjects, although my main focus has become AP Human Geography and AP World History. I have taught AP World History since the course was first offered by the College Board in 2001 and have managed an 82% passing rate.

I also started the AP Human Geography course at Grimsley 12 years ago, which I have also managed to maintain an 85% passing rate.

I am married to my lovely, talented, and beautiful wife Marci Peace, who is currently the vice president of finance for the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro. We have two girls, Lia 15 (now a 10th grade Whirlie!) and Emme, who is 12. Lia is a voracious reader, while Emme is an aspiring gymnast and world class charmer.

While my passion for teaching at Grimsley is strong, I also try to carve out time to stay physically active, including riding bikes and playing soccer. I also like music quite a bit. But mostly, I try to make sure I have some quality time to spend with my beautiful wife and daughters! Thanks and email me with any questions!
