Hello! My name is Sara Carter and I am very excited to be your child’s Kindergarten teacher for the 2017-2018 school year. I am looking forward to getting to know each of you and your children and getting to help your child through their Kindergarten journey.
This is my ninth year teaching at Northwood Elementary. I have previously taught for five years at Oak View Elementary. During my time at Oak View, I taught both Kindergarten and First Grade. I also previously taught Kindergarten for two years and First Grade another year in Virginia. I graduated from Radford University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and am certified to teach grades K-5. I also received a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from UNCG in 2011. I have three children, a little boy named Brycetin who is 4 and twin girls, Brynnleigh and Kailynn, that are 19 months.
I really enjoy working with children and can’t wait to get started this year. Kindergarten is a very important year in a child’s education because it is full of essential learning. For many parents and children, the beginning of Kindergarten is a time of great expectations and great hopes, and a little anxiety. I have listed below Kindergarten information to let you know some things to expect this year. If you have any questions please feel free to give me a call at the school, (336) 819-2920 or home, (336) 971-9274.
