Beth Cox is the Band and Orchestra Director at Northwest Guilford Middle School. She is a National Board Certified Teacher currently in her 12th year as a music educator. Ms. Cox received her undergraduate degree from the University of of North Carolina at Greensboro where she studied clarinet under Dr. Shawn Copeland and conducting with Mr. Robert Gutter and Dr. Kevin Geraldi. She completed her collegiate experience by performing on clarinet as a member of the National Collegiate Wind Ensemble at Carnegie Hall.
Ms. Cox spends her summers as an assessor for the National Board for Professional Teaching standards. Additionally, she was an item writer for the National Board Assessment Center Exercises composing questions for the Early/Middle Childhood Orchestra section.
Ms. Cox is a member of The National Association for Music Education, Music Educators of North Carolina, The American String Teachers Association and Serves on the board of directors for the Central District of The North Carolina Bandmaster's Association.
