Welcome to the '24-'25 school year! My name is Loretta Matherlee. I am from Indiana, attended Indiana State University, (Larry Bird country) and moved to NC after getting married in 1996. My husband and I have two daughters. The older is a recent college graduate of Southern Wesleyan University who majored in Criminal Justice; the younger also attends SWU with a major in Christian ministries.

I'm starting year #30 of teaching middle school! I have experience in ELA, science and social studies. I taught eighth grade during my first four years; I'm in my twenty-sixth year teaching sixth grade. I've spent many years coaching volleyball, basketball and Battle of the Books. Currently, I am the sponsor of the Impact Club which meets every Thursday morning in room 216 at 7:30 AM.
