My name is Vickie Morefield and I am from Mountain City, Tennessee, but my husband and I have lived in North Carolina for over 20 years. So, I am a North Carolinian. I am the mother of two wonderful children! I believe that education begins at home as parents read to their children, and answer all those “Why” and “What if” questions before school even begins. I have worked in Guilford County as an educator for 20+ years.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I received my National Board Certification in Early Adolescent English Language Arts in 1998 and renewed in 2008. As a Spartan (UNC-G), I earned my M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Reading and my Ph.D. in Teacher Education and Higher Education with a focus on Literary.
I am a firm believer in hard work and perseverance. As a classroom teacher, I shared the importance of effort and consistency. Helping students believe they can achieve is essential before learning can take place. When students work hard and value the contributions of everyone in the classroom, I have witnessed amazing academic and personal growth.
As Curriculum Facilitator, my goal is to provide resources, instructional assistance, and support for our staff. I love working with the students and staff here at Northwest Middle! There’s no better place to call home!
