First Grade Expectations

This year we will focus on phonics strategies to read and spell using CKLA (Core Knowledge Language Arts). We will learn comprehension strategies and vocabulary to become better readers and thinkers using CKLA Listening and Learning. We will learn about various Fables and Folktales, The Human Body, Ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia, Space, and Animals and their habitats. 

In math, we will learn how to add and subtract 2 digit numbers, count and write numbers past 120, tell time, and problem solve.  And we will write, a lot, every chance we get, about everything we are learning.
