• About Mrs. Fowler

I enjoy spending time with my children! When I have me time, I love to take a walk to the park with the kids, yoga, go for a run, play volleyball, kayak, bike, and read a good book on my Kindle app.

    Educational Background

I have been teaching PE at Morehead starting the Fall of 2008.
I graduated from Greensboro College in 2007. In 2011, I achieved my National Board Certification and in 2020, I have successfully renewed my NBC.

In 2014, I graduated from Appalachian State with a Master's in School Administration.

  • Physical Education at Morehead focuses on developmentally appropriate skill development for a variety of movement forms and sport skills.

The K-5 PE Curriculums are based on NC Essential Standards for Healthful Living.

GCS uses fitness data to advocate for policy changes to benefit students. Our PE teacher, Mrs. Fowler, will measure 3-5 students fitness levels in the fall and spring. Students will be measured on aerobic capacity, muscular strength and endurance, and flexibility. Students set goals and discuss healthy habits. In addition, GCS requires body composition data for all K-5 students through a simple measurement of height and weight. No calculations are made in association with any particular child and information submitted is anonymous. You may request for your child to "opt-out" of the body composition portion by, emailing Mrs. Fowler. Please understand your child will have incomplete fitness results if you opt-out. 3-5 families, look for your child’s fitness report soon! Learn more at www.pyfp.org.
