About Mrs Fowler
I enjoy spending time with my family and chasing my son Jack around! When I have me time, I love to run with my two dogs, play volleyball, kayak, bike, and read a good book on my Kindle or Nook apps.
I have been teaching PE at Morehead since Fall of 2008.
I graduated from Greensboro College in 2007. In 2011, I achieved my National Board Certification. In 2014, I graduated from Appalachian State with a Masters in School Administration.
Physical Education at Morehead focuses on developmentally appropriate skill development for a variety of movement forms and sport skills.
The K-5 PE Curriculums are based on NC Essential Standards for Healthful Living and the SPARK Curriculum.
Students are also tested on their physical fitness level based on the Fitnessgram assessment.
GCS requires body composition data for all K-5 students through a simple measurement of height and weight. No calculations are made in association with any particular child, and information submitted is anonymous. 3-5 students are also measured on aerobic capacity, muscular strength and endurance, and flexibility. Students set goals and discuss healthy habits. GCS uses fitness data to advocate for policy changes to benefit students.
