The Department of Early Learning serves over 1500 children ages 3 through 5 in Guilford County.  Our programs include both NC Pre-K/Title 1 classrooms, Exceptional Children's classrooms, and itinerant services for students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in the Guilford County community.

2025 – 2026 NC Pre-K Application

The Guilford County Partnership for Children will begin accepting applications in January 2025. Once applications open, you may submit a paper application or online application at www.GuilfordChildren.org. Applications for all Guilford County Schools, Children & Families First Head Start, and Private Child Care sites are accepted all school year.

The online application can be translated into over 100 languages.

As a reminder, the Guilford Partnership for Children has relocated. If you would like to apply in person, their new address is 4900 Koger Blvd., Suite 151, Greensboro, NC 27407.

What is NC Pre-K?

NC Pre-K is a high-quality preschool for eligible children aged 4. The purpose is to provide engaging and nurturing early learning experiences to ensure longer-term success in school. There are classes offered within Guilford County Schools, the Head Start program at Children and Families First, and private childcare centers. Transportation and/or extended care options are not offered by GCS, and are available at some, but not all, other sites.

Who is eligible to apply for the NC Pre-K program at Guilford County Schools?

Children who will be four years old on or before August 31, 2025.
