Federal and Special Programs

We Want to Hear From You!

Help Shape How Federal Funds Support Our Schools

Each year, Guilford County Schools applies for federal funding to support programs like Title I, Title II, Title III, and Title IV. As part of this process, we want to hear from YOU—our families, staff, and student leaders!

Your feedback is important in helping us decide how we use these funds to improve our schools and support student success. We invite you to fill out the survey and share your thoughts on how these funds are being used to enhance education and the overall well-being of our students.

We encourage you to take a moment to answer the questions based on your personal experiences. Your insights will help us understand how federal funding has made a difference at your school and how it impacts student achievement and well-being.

Parents Rights Under ESSA

As a parent of a student in a Title I school, you have the right to know:

  • Whether your child’s teacher meets state certification and licensing requirements
  • Whether the teacher is teaching under emergency or provisional status
  • Whether the teacher is teaching in their certified field
  • Whether paraprofessionals work with your child and their qualifications

You also have the right to receive information about:

  • District policies on participation in state-required assessments

Family involvement is a key part of student success. Each Title I school has a School Family Engagement Policy that outlines how families can participate in and support their child’s education.
