Free & Reduced Price Meals
GCS School Nutrition Services accepts online & paper applications for families who want to apply for free/reduced meals.
Paper applications are available at your child's school. The fastest way to be considered for free/reduced meals is to apply online, as the process is fast, secure, and easy to access.
The meal application is a family application, where only one application needs to be completed for each household.
Applications will be accepted from the following schools (Non-CEP schools): Brown Summit Middle, Northern Guilford Elementary, Northern Guilford Middle, Northern Guilford High, Northwest Guilford Middle, Northwest Guilford High, EP Pearce Elementary, Oak Ridge Elementary, Stokesdale Elementary, and Summerfield Elementary.
If you have filled out an application prior to July 5, 2024, you will need to complete another application for the 2024-2025 school year. Paper applications are available upon request from your school.
Make a Donation
Because the federal government has ended student meal waivers, GCS is no longer able to provide free breakfasts and lunches to students. All families are encouraged to fill out the meal benefits application at www.schoolcafe.com/GUILFORDCOUNTYSCHOOLS. Students NOT attending a Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) school will be required to pay for breakfasts and lunches unless they have qualified for free or reduced-price meals.
Our school staff will work with families to help them complete the meal application; however, qualifying for free meals does not allow the district to cancel any charge balances that were previously accrued.
If members of our community would like to assist in covering these balance charges, they can send a tax-deductible donation to GCS School Nutrition Services, Finance Department, 712 N. Eugene Street, Greensboro NC 27401. The memo line should note School Meal Charge Balance Donation. Donors can designate their donation toward a specific non-CEP school, if desired.
