Below you will find more information about our camp offerings as well as offerings in partnership with the Choral Arts Collective, Community Theatre of Greensboro, Moore Music, Notes for Notes, High Point Arts Council, and more!

    Arts Exploration (for rising 2nd through 5th grade students)

    Camp Location - Academy at Lincoln, 1016 Lincoln St, Greensboro, NC 27401

    Cost - $175 (scholarships available)

    Cap - 60 students per week

    • Week 1 - June 24-27
    • Week 2 - July 8-11
    • Week 3 - July 15-18
    • Week 4 - July 22-25
    • Week 5 - July 29-Aug 1

    Camp meets Monday through Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

    Students will explore aspects of Music, Theatre and Visual Arts by rotating through the art forms each day.

    • Music will introduce students to World Drumming using instruments like tubanos, shekeres, and gangokui.  Focus will be on teamwork, basic technique and creativity in a drum circle. We will also learn the basics of playing the ukulele.
    • Theatre will include learning basic theatrical skills in pantomime, stage movement and voice.
    • Visual Arts will focus on sculpture, marbling, ceramics and more!

    Middle School Art Camp (for rising 6th through 8th grade students)

    Camp Location - Academy at Lincoln, 1016 Lincoln St, Greensboro, NC 27401

    Cost - $175 (scholarships available)

    Cap - 20 students per week

    Camp meets Monday through Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

    • Printmaking: Students will explore screen printing techniques.
    • Sculpture: Students will explore 3D art making.

    "Mean Girls JR" - Musical Theatre Summer Intensive with Performance 

    Camp Location - NW Guilford HS, 5240 Northwest School Rd, Greensboro, NC 27409

    This camp offers a summer theatre experience for rising 7th through 12th grade GCS students. Students will audition to be in a production of "Mean Girls JR." Over the 5 weeks, students will prepare, learn, and apply skills in the context of a musical production. 

    • June 17 - 20 (no camp on June 19) - Start production with music and theatre rehearsals.
    • June 24 – 27 - Music rehearsals, theatre rehearsals, combined rehearsals, and Choreography rehearsals.
    • July 8-11 - Music rehearsals, theatre rehearsals, combined rehearsals, and Choreography rehearsals.
    • July 15-18 - Final run-throughs, refine music and dance scenes.
    • July 22-25- Dress rehearsals and technical rehearsals.
    • July 26-28 - Show Dates

    Cap: 60 students

    Cost: $350 for entire summer intensive. No scholarships available.

    "Legally Blonde JR" - Musical Theatre Summer Intensive with Performance

    This camp offers a summer theatre experience for rising 7th through 12th grade GCS students. Students will audition for roles in "Legally Blonde JR." Over the 3 weeks, students will prepare, learn, and apply skills in the context of a musical production. 

    • June 24 – 27 - Start production with music and theatre rehearsals.
    • July 8-11 - Music rehearsals, theatre rehearsals, combined rehearsals, and Choreography rehearsals.
    • July 15-18 - Final run-throughs, refine music and dance scenes, dress/tech rehearsals
    • July 19-20 - Show Dates

    Cap: 60 students (including cast & tech crew)

    Cost: $225 for entire summer intensive. No scholarships available.

    Choral Arts Collective Summer Choir Camp

    Camp Location - Academy at Lincoln, 1016 Lincoln St, Greensboro, NC 27401

    Sign your student up for Summer Choir Camp! The Greensboro Youth Chorus Summer Choir Camp in partnership with Guilford County Schools’ Summer Arts Institute is a week-long choir camp designed to immerse students in the world of music, providing them with the opportunity to learn singing and music skills while engaging in a variety of exciting activities such as visual art, creative movement, and dramatization.

    • Week 1 - July 22-25 - 8:30am-1pm
    • Week 2 - July 29-August 1 - 8:30-1pm

    Notes for Notes Music Camps

    Camp Location - Penn-Griffin School, 825 Washington St, High Point, NC 27260

    For rising 8th through 12th graders. Please note that no nutrition is available for this camp.

    This is an exciting opportunity for youth interested in pursuing a career in the music industry or with interest in gaining hands-on experience in the recorded music process. Notes for Notes® (N4N) provides access to high-quality, modern music-making environments. N4N Studios are fully equipped, professional level, recording studios packed with guitars, keyboards/synths, drums, DJ gear, and digital music workstations where youth can experience contemporary music for free, at their own pace, in their own learning style, under the direction of talented Producers.

    • June 24-27, 9a-1p
      • Private Band Camp: This camp is a closed session for students currently in a band from PGSA to write and prepare an original song that the students in Recording Camp will capture.
    • July 8-11, 9a-1p
      • Recording Camp: Students will learn the basics of the live recording process by recording a student band’s original music in the N4N Studio. Students will work alongside Producers on professional recording equipment tracking live vocals, guitars, bass and drums helping the band complete a recording. 
    • July 15-18, 9a-1p
      • Beat Making Camp: Students will learn the basics of how to record a beat. By capturing both live sounds and working within recording software in the N4N, students will improve their understanding of digital music making and production.
    • July 22-25, 9a-1p
      • Songwriter's Camp: Students will participate in a creative songwriting camp, where they will have the chance to work individually, in groups and with a guest artist to write original lyrics to music. Students will have the opportunity to collaborate with beat makers and other creators in the Studio to create an original song.
    • July 29-Aug 1, Open Workshop 1
    • Aug 5-8, Open Workshop 2
      • Open Workshop 1 and Open Workshop 2: Students will have the opportunity to explore the N4N studio and either continue to work on projects from previous weeks’ camps or try something new like podcasting, learning a live instrument or DJing.

    High Point Arts Council - John Coltrane Jazz Camp

    Camp Location - Penn-Griffin School, 825 Washington St, High Point, NC 27260

    The John Coltrane Jazz Workshop is a staple in our Summer Arts program and for the community of High Point. Inspired by John Coltrane's legacy in High Point, this camp takes place at the school that Coltrane attended. Students explore the ins and outs of various jazz styles with leading jazz musicians from the community. Students must have completed 1 year of band or orchestra and have an instrument to participate.

    • 9:00AM-1:00PM 
    • Grades 7-12 (one year of band/orchestra experience required)
