Welcome to the Guilford County Schools (GCS) Student Assignment Office.
Students enrolled in GCS are assigned to schools in one of four ways:
- Based on the attendance zone in which the student's parent(s) or court-appointed guardian/custodian resides
- By applying to a magnet or high school option program during specific timeframes
- Through the reassignment process
- Determination by staff that the student meets the criteria of homeless children and youth as defined by the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act of 2001
