Ms. Rebecca Starnes

    Ms. Starnes graduated from Carson Newman University with Bachelor of Science degrees in Elementary Education and Early Childhood and a minor in Special Education. She began teaching in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso in West Africa with the International Mission Board teaching Baptist missionary children. Upon returning to the United States, she taught several years in Tennessee and Florida before settling down in North Carolina. Ms. Starnes has taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades in Guilford County since 1997. She earned her Master's of Education: Technology in the Elementary Classroom in 2010 from Grand Canyon University. In 2017, she joined the Southern staff as the Curriculum Facilitator.

    Outside of school Ms. Starnes enjoys time with her 2 sons and their families. She also enjoy reading, working puzzles, playing games, traveling, and baking in the kitchen.
