Virtual Author Event

  •

Pen writing words         stack of books

During the month of October, students who logged into their virtual Media classes or watched the recordings were able to hear read-alouds of books written by the author Kelly Starling Lyons.   A few of the books that we read (depending on grade level) included Going Down Home with Daddy, Tea Cakes for Tosh, Hope's Gift, and books from the Ty's Travels series.  Following the read-alouds and discussion of children's authors and illustrators, students were given the opportunity to submit questions for the author.  On November 23, Kelly Starling Lyons will take part in an interview-style Q & A session (recorded) with Greensboro Bound, as part of their Authors Engaging Students (AES) program.  Participating schools (including Bessemer) will gain access to the video sometime during December.
