Hi! I’m Mrs. Bolen and this is my 7th year teaching. I earned my B.S. Degree in Biology from The Citadel in 2018 before beginning my career in Aiken, South Carolina. During Covid my husband and I decided to move to Texas where we spent the last three years.
I love finding new innovative ways to run a classroom and have high expectations for all of my students. Ragsdale is an amazing school and I am proud to be a Tiger!

The North Carolina 2023 K-12 Science Standards are intended to foster conceptual understanding and help develop scientifically literate and curious students. This year we will be focusing on the North Carolina Biology standards and aim to foster an interest and basic understanding of the living world around us. This involves many topics including but not limited to Genetics, Cell Anatomy, and an introduction to Biochemistry. Biology can be both rigorous and fun; students will get however much out of this course that they are willing to put in. The state of North Carolina requires students to complete an End of Course Exam that is written, administered, and graded by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. This exam is worth 20% of the student’s final grade.
