As I close this chapter and reflect on my six and a half years working with the A-Team at Smith High School, I feel nothing but gratitude for having the opportunity to serve as your assistant principal. Our accomplishments of Exceeded Growth in tested areas for three years in a row, Met Growth in the others, and Educator Effectiveness increased each year says a lot about the Faculty, Staff and Students. This could not be done without everyone working together and believing in our students that we can and will accomplish these goals. All I can say is “Job Well Done”.
To the departments that I directly supervised, thank you for your Commitment to Excellence. Teaching and learning continues and your data matters. To the Celebration & Recognition Committee you are amazing. Students set your goals and reach for them one by one. There are so many opportunities for success waiting out there for you once you apply yourself. You are being given the tools to be successful, use them. To the “Smith Family” keep pushing our students to work to their fullest potential because once they know you care they will step up, do the work and show you that they too care. Thank you for all that you do for our students each and every day.
As I transition to principalship - opening a new chapter, I will take all that I have learned and the experiences I have gain and cherish them for a lifetime. It is bittersweet but I feel humbled to say I have worked at Smith High School and the experience has helped mold me into who I am Becoming.
As Rita Pierson said, every child deserves a champion – an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists that they become the best that they can possible be…Smith High School have champions that have done just that and more. Continue to be champions for our students and for each other…I will miss you all
