Urban Ministries have available funds to assist families directly impacted by COVID-19.
There are funds to help with rent and mortgages. All you need to do is contact Urban Ministries at 336-553-2659 to schedule an appointment.
For all other assistance such as past due electric, gas, and water bill, or utility deposit assistance, please stop by Urban Ministries located at 305 West Gate City Blvd., Greensboro, NC 27406 on Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays between 8:30-3:30. Utility bills must be past due to receive assistance.
Please have the following items/documents with you at your scheduled appointment for rent/mortgage assistance and for your walk-in to receive utilities assistance.
*A picture ID, social security cards for all in the home
*Receipts of income (pay-stub) and expenses for past and current month for all individuals living in the home
*Proof that you are affected financially due to the Covid-19.
*Urban Ministries will also need proof that you can return to work when the crisis is lifted or document that shows you have been approved for unemployment but has not received payment. Crisis may vary from one family to another, so Urban Ministries would like to encourage anyone needing assistance to apply.
Please contact your School Social Worker if, you need a written referral.
In addition, Urban Ministries can help with grocery assistance once a month, that’s (12 times a year).
