Join us on Thursday, December 20th, for our first ever Movie Night at Southwest Middle. The feature of the night will be the movie WONDER, an inspiring and heartwarming story of August Pullman, better known as Auggie. Born with facial differences that, up until now, have prevented him from going to a mainstream school, Auggie becomes the most unlikely of heroes when he enters the local fifth grade. As his family, his new classmates, and the larger community all struggle to find their compassion and acceptance, Auggie’s extraordinary journey will unite them all and prove you can’t blend in when you were born to stand out.
This movie is being shown as part of our school wide focus on the character trait of the month, Kindness. Wonder provides it's viewers with messages about how we can show kindness and acceptance of all people, and how to look at the heart of a person rather than what is seen on the outside.
All students and their families are invited, however, non-SWMS students (siblings) must be accompanied by a parent. Arrive by 5:45 in time to purchase a drink and popcorn ($1/person), and find your seat by 6:00. We hope to see you there!
We have limited seating so please reserve your seat(s) soon. Registration will close on Monday, Dec. 17th.
