How would I know if Swann is the school I’m supposed to attend?
You can go to this website to check your address to see what school with which to register – schoolassignmentlocator.gcsnc.com. Swann Middle serves students in grades 6-8.

 

How do I enroll my child to attend Swann?
Online enrollment is now a district-wide requirement, especially with COVID-19 restrictions in place. You can visit gcsnc.schoolmint.net to enroll your child at Swann.

 

What documents are needed to enroll at Swann?
If you are coming from another GCS school, you simply need proof of address.

If you are coming from another county or state, you will need the following:

Birth certificate
Immunization record
Information about your child’s former school
Proof of address
Academic information about your child (ex. My child has an IEP/504 Plan/AIG.)
These documents can be photographed and uploaded to your application in SchoolMint.

What documents can I use for proof of address?
The following documents are acceptable forms of proof of address:

Current, original gas, oil, water or electric bill in the name of the parent(s) or court-appointed guardian/custodian. (Telephone and cable television bills are not acceptable.)

Official lease agreement in the name of the parent(s) or court-appointed guardian/custodian.

Driver's license (or State ID card from Department of Motor Vehicles) and voter registration card (obtain from the Board of Elections Office - not the Department of Motor Vehicles. DMV will not provide documentation of voter registration). These items must be in the name of the parent(s) or court-appointed guardian/custodian.

Driver's license (or State ID card) and car registration in the name of the parent(s) or court-appointed guardian/custodian.

Driver's license (or State ID card) and letter from employer verifying the address of the parent(s) or court-appointed guardian/custodian. Letter from the employer must be on company letterhead.

Driver's license (or State ID card) or voter registration card and Medicaid card in the name of the parent(s) or court-appointed guardian/custodian.
I’ve completed my application on SchoolMint. Now, what?
The school’s enrollment staff will pull your application and verify all entered information. They are only allowed to pull applications with the status “Registration Complete”, so make sure you completely fill out all forms and upload all required documents. Once your application is verified by the school’s enrollment staff, you will be contacted for an enrollment appointment. Any additional needed documentation will be requested at that time.
