Ten students from the Academy at Lincoln ranging from 4th grade to 8th grade competed in the North Carolina Science and Engineering Fair this weekend, representing Guilford County and Region 5. We are incredibly proud of all students who competed! Here are the outcomes of the state fair:
Junior Category (Middle Grades):
Chemistry- Anderson Lam (8th grade) - 1st Place
Earth & Environmental- Jayden Cho (6th grade) - 2nd Place
Engineering- Reina Liu (6th grade) - 3rd Place
Math & Statistics- Srija Roy (8th grade) - 3rd Place
The following students received Special Awards for their Projects:
Broadcom Coding for Commitment Award- Srija Roy
Department of Defense STEM Leadership Award - Anderson Lam
Office of Naval Research Naval Science Award - Vrishank Kuturu (6th grade)
Landing in the top 10% of all judged projects, Anderson Lam and Jayden Cho have been nominated to enter the Broadcom MASTERS (national science fair). Last year, Anderson Lam and Srija Roy were nominated. Trophies and medals will be received after Spring Break.
