Community Gardening

As part of a collaborative enrichment project on sustainability and community gardening, Lincoln 8th graders in Mr. Bergkamp's science class broke out their shovels and moved dirt into the raised garden beds that were recently installed outside the cafeteria.

In class, students have studied plants and engaged in the project-based learning process to see the garden to fruition. Additionally, teachers and students have visited the PDY&F community garden to learn about sustainable raised-bed community garden practices (all growing methods are organic) and observe some of their irrigation practices, greenhouse, and the new aquaponics unit currently being installed.

We can't wait to see learning come to life through the garden!
