Gradesa Lockhart Named Principal at Academy at Smith
Gradesa Lockhart will return to GCS as the new principal of the Academy at Smith. Lockhart currently serves as the principal of STEM Early High School in Vance County, where she has been in 2019. Before that, she served as principal at Bluford STEM Academy from 2012 to 2019, and the school met expected growth each year under her leadership.
Lockhart holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a bachelor’s degree in middle grades math/science from North Carolina Central University, a master’s degree in school administration from North Carolina A&T State University and a doctoral degree in education leadership from Gardner-Webb University.
