WGHS DECA Chapter brings home the prize.

It's time to congratulate the members of our newly re-activated WGHS DECA Chapter!  These students worked hard to prepare for their first District 6 Marketing Competitive Event Conference in Winston Salem, NC on November 30th, and came away with an outstanding award for Western Guilford.   Isabella Thungren,  a junior Principles of Business student, walked away with a 3rd place trophy as well as two finalist medals for high scores in Principals of Marketing role play and competitive event testing.  This was impressive considering it was our first appearance since 2002.

The following students also won role-play and test proficiency recognition in their respective areas of Marketing Competitive Events.  Bria Bunch (Principles of Marketing), Jamila Issah (Prinicipals of Marketing), Edgar Rodriquez (Sports and Entertainment Marketing), Melissa Espinoza(Quick Serve Restaurant Management) , Salassie Shaw (Quick Serve Restaurant Management), and Yorleny Vasquez (Principles of Marketing). All students dressed professionally and acted responsibly during the entire conference.  Thank you for all you school-wide support and  assistance during DECA Month to help students demonstrate this year’s theme.  WGHS DECA is  “READY FOR IT!”
