Principal's Weekly Message

Hello Guilford eLearning Virtual Academy Students, Parents, & Staff!

This is Mrs. Jordan with our weekly announcements.

We are getting ready to start our last full week of school before the Thanksgiving Break. Please make sure that your child is joining the live lessons and completing their work this week.

As GCS announced a couple of weeks ago, students will not have live lessons on Monday, November 22 and Tuesday, November 23. Brick and mortar schools are doing remote learning on those days and working on assignments that they have been given. Since the nature of our school is virtual lessons, our teachers will post asynchronous lessons and/or activities that help our students practice the skills that they have learned up to this point in the school year. Teachers will take attendance on those days by seeing who logs into Canvas and completes assignments. Those asynchronous days are not a day off for students or staff.

When students return from the Thanksgiving break the week of November 29, it will be half-way through the second quarter and teachers will be preparing to send interim reports/progress reports home on Wednesday, December 1. Completing work will have a direct effect on how students are performing to this point in the quarter.

This concludes the announcements for this week. Thank you for all that you do to support our students at the Guilford eLearning Virtual Academy and have a wonderful week!
