Principal's Weekly Message

Weekly Message for 1/17/2021

Hello Guilford eLearning Virtual Academy Students, Parents, & Staff!

This is Mrs. Jordan with our weekly announcements.

To begin, Monday, January 18 is the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday, so school is closed for both students and staff.

Students will not have school on Tuesday, January 19 due to the GCS mandated teacher workday.

Both students and staff will return on Wednesday, January 20, which is also the first day of the third nine weeks.

To kick-off the second semester on Wednesday, January 20, our staff has prepared a “Pep Rally” video where you can get to know our staff and find out our school’s mascot. Our students submitted their ideas for the mascot. Then, each class made their selection from the one’s submitted in their class. After this, each grade level voted on the selection that each of their classes made and finally, it was narrowed down to six possible mascots. The final selection will be shared in the video. Your child’s teacher will share the link to the video on their Canvas page and recommend times for your child to watch the video with their class.

Finally, if your child is in Kindergarten-3rd grade and needs a device or has a GCS Lenova laptop that needs to be exchanged for an iPad, please call the school at 336-522-6320 to set up an appointment. We will be receiving Chromebooks for our 4th and 5th grade students who are in need of a device very soon. We will announce this when they arrive and make appointments.

This concludes the announcements for this week. Thank you for all that you do to support our students at the Guilford eLearning Virtual Academy and have a wonderful week!
