Bessemer, Jamestown Middle Named GCS Reads 30 Schools of the Month

26 schools qualified for the title with more than 600 minutes read per student
December 6, 2017 – GCS students read more than 22 million minutes in October, and 26 schools qualified to be named GCS Reads 30 Schools of the Month.
The selected winners are Bessemer Elementary for Learning Areas 1-7, and Jamestown Middle for Learning Areas 8-13.
GCS Reads 30 is a district-wide initiative encouraging students to read 30 minutes per day for 20 days a month, outside of school assignments. Schools with an average of 600 minutes read per student will qualify to be named a GCS Reads 30 School of the Month.
