Good evening, Colfax Vikings! Here are your updates for this week!
Thank you to all the families who had their students at school, on time and ready for testing! We appreciate the support.
Thursday, our fifth-grade promotion ceremony will take place, please make note of the following times - Ms. Callaway and Mrs. Magyar’s class will be at 8:30. Mrs. Jones’ class will be at 9:45. Ms. Parks’ class will be at 11:00 and Miss Peterson’s class will be at 12:15. Guests will be limited to 2 per student and will need to bring their own chairs. Siblings will need to remain in their classrooms, or with your family. Extra guests are welcome to watch from cars. In the event of inclement weather, we will transition to a drive through ceremony at the same times. A separate call will go out to 5th grade families with additional details.
Thursday is also the last day of school for the 20-21 school year. From our PTO, remember we still have a limited number of yearbooks at school for purchase, if you are interested, please call the front office. The cost is $30.
Please also see the information in the email regarding the silhouette fundraiser, this is a great opportunity for a lasting memento.
Also, Guilford County Schools is gathering information on the possibility of re-opening ACES, the after-school program that was held at Colfax, a link will be in the email.
Finally, I have a personal message for all our Colfax families. As of June 30th, after thirty years in education, I will be retiring from Colfax Elementary. Working with the families at Colfax has been an absolute pleasure and I will miss each and every one of you.
Students, I hope you have a wonderful summer. Make sure you spend some time reading each day and playing outside! Education Galaxy will be available all summer, so log in and work on some activities a few times a week. Some of you will be here for summer school and we look forward to having you on campus! I wish you all the best and have a wonderful summer break!
