Purchasing

The Guilford County Schools is one of multiple North Carolina entities that belong to the Carolina's Association of Governmental Purchasing. The CAGP has supported public procurement professionals in North and South Carolina through a variety of educational and networking programs and opportunities.  In 2000, the CAGP came up with the Sustained Professional Purchasing Award (SPPA) which is presented annually and recognizes all member agencies who have demonstrated sustained excellence in purchasing standards during the calendar year.  The award is based on an agency's use of technology, minority outreach, staff certification, customer training and use of recycled products.  Since its inception, the Guilford County Schools Purchasing Department, one of only several agencies in the association to receive this award, is also the ONLY North Carolina entity to receive the award each year!!!
