Foust Elementary's School Principal: Dr. Kendrick R Alston

Dr. Alston,

Welcome to the Foust Family.

Greetings Parents/Guardians, Community Members, and Students of Foust Elementary,

I am so excited for the opportunity to serve the students, staff, and various Foust stakeholders as your next principal!!!!! I am truly honored to follow in the footsteps of such an amazing leader as Mr. Dixon and build upon the great foundation he has laid here at Foust Elementary. Parents/Guardians, thank you for giving me and the rest of the team here at Foust Elementary the opportunity to serve your child as a student here. It is a privilege and honor that we do not take lightly. Over the course of the summer,  I will be working closely with our School Improvement Team and other members of the staff to ensure a smooth transition and successful school year.

I am a native of Rocky Mount, North Carolina where I had the opportunity to serve as a 5th grade teacher, Assistant Principal, and Principal during my 15 years in the Nash/Rocky Mount School System and Guilford County Schools. Most recently, I served as the principal of Shadybrook Elementary.  In 2006, I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education at Fayetteville State University. Years later, I earned a Masters of Arts degree in Elementary Reading and Mathematics (K-6) from Walden University and a Masters of Science degree in School Administration from North Carolina State University. Most recently, I earned my Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Supervision. On a personal note, I enjoy spending time with my family, participating in service projects, and watching movies. I am also an avid reader and enjoy immersing myself in literature that will drive my personal and professional growth as an educator, husband, and father.

As a part of my transition to Foust Elementary, I will be scheduling multiple opportunities for our parents/guardians and community members to talk with me so that I can learn more about your vision, expectations, and aspirations for Foust Elementary.

Thank you again for giving us the opportunity to serve your child. If I can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to call me at (336) 370-8155 or email me at alstonk4@gcsnc.com.

Your humble servant,

Dr. Kendrick Alston
