GCS Offers Emergency Hotlines
March 15, 2020 – To help students and families handle the stress school closures may cause, Guilford County Schools (GCS) now has two hotlines.
The first hotline is the GCS student crisis hotline. This phone number should only be used by GCS students for a crisis of any kind. If it is an emergency, call 911. If during this time away from school a student has concerns about anxiety, depression, abuse, suicidal thoughts, or has no food, etc. a student should dial 336-332-7295. This number will be manned 24 hours a day, seven days a week by GCS counselors for at least the next two weeks.
GCS has established a call center to answer incoming questions from students, parents and the general public. GCS employees, including translators, will staff the center and respond to inquiries about school nutrition, digital learning, health and wellness, special education, and employee relations issues, among other topics.
The call center will operate Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for the next two weeks. The first full day of operation will be Tuesday, March 17, 2020. The GCS call center can be reached at 336-332-7290.
