WGMS End of Year Information

The following are announcements for the week of June 7th:

Thank you for your support of your students this school year!  Friday June 5th was the last day for remote learning, and the last day that students could turn in assignments for remote learning.  Final Report cards will be mailed on June 15th.

We have been challenged by GCS to have parents and students complete the COVID-19/ Remote learning survey by June 12th.  Schools who increase their parent participation by the greatest participation will receive $1000! The deadline to complete surveys has been extended to Friday June, 12th.  The links have been posted on our FB and WGMS website-thanks for your help in advance!

The district is providing Summer Bridge to Math 1 and Ready opportunities in math for students who desire to strengthen their skills in preparation for next school year. The registration flyer and link are posted on our website and FB page.  These math opportunities are not the same as the summer learning for WC-19 students, but they are open to all students as needed. Information about Summer Learning will be sent out with Report Cards after June 15th  Please direct questions to Ms. Sims and Ms. Murray- school counselors.

Laptops were not collected so that students would have access to summer learning as needed. If there is a change to laptop pick up procedures, we will inform families asap.

§ Bridge to Math 1 is open to students in AIMM and Acc 7 who need additional review to stay on track for Math 1. It is also open to students in Math 7 who performed above grade level during the year and would like the opportunity to skip Math 8 and enroll in Math 1 next school year.

§ Ready courses are open to any students (current 5th grade through Math 2) who need additional support to be ready for grade level courses next year.

These courses will begin July 6 and conclude on August 7. Registration opens June 4th and closes June 26th. Students will take the courses from home through Canvas. Internet access is required to work on the course. All teachers are licensed Guilford County Schools’ teachers. The virtual course itself is pass/fail and will not go on the student’s academic record. Bridge to Math has a final exam that will be administered online at the end of the course. · Ready Math Courses do not have a final exam.
