Hello Stokesdale Parents!
Welcome back! Here is some important information about what your child will be doing in music class for this school year:
Students in K-2 will be working on steady beat, mood, rhythm, melody, playing instruments, and story sequencing; 3rd Grade – review steady beat, rhythms, melody, playing instruments, and melodic ostinatos; 4th & 5th Grade – Melody patterns through singing and instrument playing, improvisation and writing music and rhythm patterns. 4th and 5th Grade students will be playing soprano recorders this year! 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students need to bring a music folder with notebook paper and a pencil in it. If your child needs a folder, paper or pencil, have him/her come see me and I have extras. J
Your child will have the opportunity to perform this year! Look for more information regarding dates and times.
The 3rd & 4th Graders will go on a field trip to see the Greensboro Symphony at the Steven Tanger Performing arts Center on March 18, 19, 20, or 21, 2025 (date TBD).
5th Graders will go on a field trip to see an Opera at Carolina Theater on February 3, 4, or 5, 2025 (date TBD). Permission forms with cover letters will be sent home regarding these field trips and they are FREE for our students!
