November 6, 2022 Weekly STAR Family Updates
Good afternoon Morehead STAR Families! This is Mrs. Traumuller, the Proud Morehead Principal, with your weekly updates and reminders.
THIS IS SUCH A FUN AND BUSY WEEK! But let's start off with a HUGE thank you to all of the third grade and fifth grade parents and students who made BOTH field trips fun, exciting and safe! It was so amazing seeing great pictures and hearing the STARS talk about their fun in their environment and with their peers. SUCH great memories!
This week is our STARS ON THE RUN WEEK! This is a huge annual event with a major reward of earning monies that go directly back to making our school better! This week will be full of fun and spirit - including SPIRIT DAYS! Monday is Morehead TEAM Day - wear your favorite team jersey. Tuesday is a Teacher Workday-stay home and #ask5for5. Wednesday is WAKE UP WEDNESDAY - wear your pajamas to school! Thursday is our STARS on the RUN EVENT - so all of Morehead will be running in their blue shirts! If you are new to Morehead, your child will receive a shirt on the day of the event! Friday is no school for students again as we honor our Veterans.

Thank you to the 2022-23 PTA Stars on the Run Sponsors for helping us move closer to reaching our goal to purchase a digital school sign! You will see these sponsor logos on our t-shirts, on social media, and on our Morehead website.

Thank you to all the Stars on the Run Sponsors as they helped us raise 9,000 towards the new sign! We still need to raise 2,000! We can do this with our Stars on the Run Student Campaign which ends on Nov 10th!
The challenge is for each student/family to #ask5for5 by sending out the donation link to 5 people for a donation of $5.00. Check out the Flyer Link for all the Student Campaign information.
As of Saturday, 1st grade is leading with most participation across grade levels! Homeroom classes in the lead: K-Peten, 1st-Roberts, 2nd-Ball, 3rd-Chavis, 4th-Baumann & Garret are currently in a tie, and 5th-Lovett. Who will win the prizes!? Let’s keep the donations coming so we can get to see our stars shine on the new digital sign!
For Thursday, the day of our big event - STAR Grown Ups are invited to come and volunteer!

The last PTA update is to save the date for PTA Pie day is November 22nd!
