Weekly Updates and Reminders 01/29/23
Sunday, January 29, 2023 Weekly STAR Family Updates
Good afternoon Morehead STAR Families! This is Mrs. Traumuller, the Proud Morehead Principal, with your weekly updates and reminders.
As we gear up to have our first full, five day week in a very long time, get your calendars ready as we have many great things planned. First up - the weather this week looks less than lovely! As you know much of our campus is open without cover or sidewalks that puddle water quite easily. Please send your child to school prepared for the weather and we will reroute most traffic to indoors whenever possible.
This Monday, all grades will be finalized by teachers in order for our records to be stored and report cards printed. As you have heard, the Magnet Fair is now open and we are hosting our first Tuesday Tour this week! If you are already a Morehead STAR, you do not have to worry about doing anything, but if you have family or friends that would like to attend Morehead, please send them to our website to register for one of our three tours. We will also be at the Greensboro Coliseum this Wednesday evening for the Magnet School Choice Options Showcase. Arrival on time and everyday attendance continues to be a HUGE push for us as all of our grade levels are completing their middle of the year assessments. For information about testing, please visit our website.
After reviewing attendance with our attendance team, our overall numbers are getting lower! Thank you for your support. We need your help with revisiting behavior on school buses as well as behavior with peers. What is sometimes considered "rough housing" is not allowed at school and quickly turns into a much bigger situation. Thank you for partnering with us as we continue to push through this school year. Important upcoming event that is happening on Monday, February 6th is class pictures. You can find the order page for this on our website as well as one in your folders coming to and from with your students.

Thursday, Feb. 2nd we had a scheduled meeting planned, however, we have no new business to share. We do have some updates on the sign and special treats we are doing for staff.
