Weekly Reminders and Updates February 12, 2023
Sunday, February 12, 2023 Weekly STAR Family Updates
Good afternoon Morehead STAR Families! This is Mrs. Traumuller, the Proud Morehead Principal, with your weekly updates and reminders.
We are starting this week with another great celebration of attendance for the third straight week in a row. We are having a stomach bug go through our school family. IF your child has been sick on their stomach, please keep them home and send them to school with a note explaining their absence. We need your help to get this bug out of our hallways.
This Monday, we begin with a very cold start with wet on the ground. Please note that our grounds will be very wet tomorrow, please send your STARS prepared with appropriate shoes. Tuesday is Valentine's Day with many celebrations within classrooms happening. Please make sure to check your classroom Dojo account so that you can know of any events happening in your classroom. Wednesday is the 100th day of the school year! Can you believe it??? Both Thursday and Friday are regular school days for us. Planning ahead to the following week - there will be NO SCHOOL ON MONDAY, 2/20, as it is a holiday.
STAR grown ups - we need your help! Please help us by checking your child's backpack daily. We are having many items come to school that should not be in the classroom. Some items to mention are game systems, toys, large bags of candy and chips, and other items that are not appropriate for school. Also, a reminder for you: Per GCS policy, a student who brings their cell phone must have it powered off and put away during the instructional day. Thank you for partnering with us to ensure that we are all working together to keep our school safe and our focus on learning.

Wednesday is Morehead Cici pizza day! Enjoy lunch and or dinner at Cici! Be sure to tell your homeroom teacher name so your child’s class can win a pizza party!! Proceeds raised go toward PTA teacher resources! Make sure to plan to take the night off from cooking and help our school support our teachers and students.
