Weekly Updates and Reminders 03/05/23
Sunday, March 5, 2023 Weekly STAR Family Updates
Good afternoon Morehead STAR Family. This is Mrs. Traumuller, the proud Principal, with your updates and reminders for the week ahead.
Please let me start by thanking each and every one of your for the outpouring of love, supplies, and money for our Morehead Family that was a victim of a fire. I am truly overwhelmed by the amount of support that you have shown them in a huge time of need. THANK YOU! We will continue to collect this upcoming week if you would still like to donate.
Also, another great celebration is Mr. Kight's Morehead Elementary's Hoops for Hearts event held on Thursday of last week. Your STAR students had a great time working with the arts team to learn more about how their heart works as well as exercise through various stations to get their heart pumping! Thank you to Mr. Kight for organizing a wonderful event for all students in the name of fitness!
This upcoming week is a full five day week and we look forward to the work we have planned. On Tuesday afternoon, we will have our monthly School Improvement meeting virtually. If you would like to join or provide questions or feedback, use the link below and they will be addressed before our team on Tuesday. The link to join is on our school website or easily linked for you here. The meeting starts at 3. Also this week, our third and fourth grade classes will go to the Greensboro Symphony at the Tanger Center. It should be a great experience for all students, so please make sure that you have returned your permission slip.
The last piece of information to share is about our car line. Please remember, although we all have places to be, we must remain safe! Please do NOT park on Tower road during dismissal and do not pass around cars. We had a police officer there on Friday who reports that there were many people creating unsafe situations for students and their safety. Also, remember, the city of Greensboro has 2 bright yellow signs forbidding a left turn out of our school during arrival or dismissal times. Please conduct yourself within the guidelines of safety during this time. I will return to my morning station to ensure that we are all doing the right thing tomorrow morning.
