Weekly Updates and Reminders 11.03.24
Sunday, November 3, 2024 Weekly STAR Family Updates
Good afternoon parents! This is Mrs. Traumuller, the Proud Morehead Principal, with the weekly reminders and updates!
I would like to start this week with thanking all of our STAR Community for participating in our spirit week for Red Ribbon Week. We had so much fun and it was great seeing the students celebrate positive and healthy choices! This week is a busy one, so please make sure to get your calendar out, as although it is a short week, we have many events that you will not want to miss.
Monday and Tuesday of this week are both teacher workdays. Therefore, no students will be on campus during those two days. You should have had a conference with your classroom teacher or have one set up to discuss the first quarter grades and progress. If you do not have one scheduled yet, please reach out to your STAR's teacher to set one up. The report cards will officially go home on the 14th. Wednesday is our first actual school day of the week. Students should bring in their fund raising weekend updates so that we can ensure that all students get the prizes that they are awarded. We have a few days this week that are spirit week in order to get us ready for Friday's STARS ON THE RUN EVENT!
Nov. 6th is Wake-up Wednesday-wear PJ's
Nov. 7th Let’s get Crazy about SOTR with Crazy Sock day!
Nov. 8th Stars on the Run event on the Morehead Track, wear tennis shoes and parents are invited to come and volunteer! Check out the link on the digital message: https://tinyurl.com/SOTRlaps
Our PTA has purchased shirts for all students to wear on this day! We will keep them at school so that they can wear them on Friday - the day of the race. If you preordered on, it will be sent home with your STAR for you to wear in support on Friday!
On Saturday, we will run in our Fall Go Far Race! If you have registered, please be on the lookout for information on where to meet on the day of the race. We ask that all students wear their Morehead STARS shirt so that we can easily see all of our school's racers.
Some of our STAR families received letters reminding them of the NC Attendance law that asks us to alert families of late arrivals, absences, and early dismissals. Please partner with us in knowing that that the instructional day starts at 7:45 and goes through 2:30. Every minute and every day counts as we work towards exceeding growth this year! Please let us know how we can assist you in ensuring that students are at school every day!
